Dumfries and Galloway were ranked at one of the lowest earning communities in Scotland in a recent study.
The Dumfries and Galloway statistics are very disappointing but not surprising:
• Annual earnings £30,633, which is -12.9% below the Scottish average of £35,158, giving a ranking of 29th of the 32 local areas
• Weekly wages £581, which is -19.3% below the national average of £720, giving a ranking of 32nd .
The study was recently published statistics by the Office for National Statistics. This comes months after Dumfries & Galloway was named in the top 5 for Employee wellbeing league for the UK.
